Spaces to Share Inspiration

Notre Dame Mission Volunteers honored its various roots during AmeriCorps week, March 12 - 18. Service sites and NDMV staff took time to formally recognize and thank their Notre Dame AmeriCorps members for their service. At the end of this celebratory week, some of our members for their service. some of our members, community partners, and leadership met at Refuge Coffee in Atlanta, Georgia to share about NDA Atlanta's AmeriCorps Program for Newcomer Youth. Dr. Rob Helfenbein of Mercer University and Atlanta working with newcomer and immigrant youth. This event was truly a highlight of AmeriCorps week and continues to highlight the important work that our staff and members continue to provide in their communities.

Members also had a unique opportunity to connect virtually in April during a NDMVA tradition, Member-to-Member. Member-to-Member, a Mid-Year Conference tradition, gave our members the opportunity to share their unique interests and practices with one another through presentations. Members shared knowledge, learned from one another, and came together in community. Over 30 members and Notre Dame staff gathered virtually and listened to presentations such as: Developing Lesson Plans to Fit Your Students, Going Green - Living Sustainably as a Volunteer, Everything You Need to Know About BTS, and Community Knowledge Development.
