St Kateri Habitat

Prayer

July 14 is the Feast of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint and the patroness of Native Americans and people in exile. She is also the patroness (along w/ St. Francis) of the environment and ecology. Learn more about her.

Franciscan Media published this prayer to St Kateri:

O Great Lily of the Mohawks, we ask that you take our intentions to the foot of the cross. Ask Jesus to bring healing to those who are heavily burdened. Through your intercession, may this favor be granted if it is according to the will of God. By your prayer, help us always to remain faithful to Jesus and to his Holy Church. St. Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us. Amen.

Education

The plastic crisis, health impacts, producer responsibility, and the burden on vulnerable populations and countries that have the least waste management infrastructure are all topics discussed in the current cover story of TIME Magazine. It is a good article, although there could have been a few more solutions offered. They are out there. We just need to commit and engage.

Democracy Watch

With so many sources for news in this political season, how do you decide where to look for information? I would love to know your sources. It is difficult to find completely non-partisan sources. But, if you have a good source, please share it with me. I’ll check it out.
