Your Little Bit of Good, First Lenten Edition

Your Little Bit of Good February 24 2023

Pack nothing. Bring only your determination to serve and your willingness to be free. Only surrender to the need of the Time— To love justice and walk humbly with God.

Prayer

The Maryknoll Office of Global Concerns offers us a Lenten Reflection Guide inspired by Laudato Si’.

Knowledge

As you may know, I am always open for suggestions and guest writers for YLBG. Sr Mary Ann Barnhorn made a suggestion for our first Lenten edition. As we make our journey through Lent, perhaps you could consider engaging in more advocacy? I have found the League of Conservation Voters to be a wonderful resource for legislative action on environmental issues. They research topics well and look at issues from various angles.
Sr Mary Ann suggested I provide information to you on who are your elected officials.

Advocacy is important on both a state and federal level. Here in Reading, where Mount Notre Dame is located, our state representative is Jessica Miranda. Our State Senator is Louis Blessing. For others in Ohio, you can find your representative and your senator  by simply entering your street address and zip code. Then click submit.
For Congressional officials, everyone can find their senators and their representatives.

You can contact the White House by email or call the switchboard at 202-456-1414.
