Anonymous asked:
"Why is there no justice in society, why do we have to suffer before one can be heard?"
Answer from Sister Judi Clemens, SNDdeN:
Thank you for your questions. I hear frustration that leads to imagining there is NO justice in society. You may have personal experience that leads you to ask this question. Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed with so much injustice, I am tempted to think the same. As an advocate for justice, I make it a practice to surround myself with other justice seekers who are really making justice happen. Among many role models, beginning with Jesus, I look to Bryan Stevenson, the founder of Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama since I am an advocate to end the death penalty in Ohio and around the country. Jesus’ life culminated in great suffering for the sake of justice and, as a follower of Jesus, I work to embrace the suffering in our world and to believe in God’s mercy.
