Dear Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur,
Cordial greetings from the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm-Sweden, and self! My name is Charles Câmara, working in the Bishop's office as international development coordinator. In this capacity, I'm also involved with supporting various eco-friendly initiatives in different parts of the world, especially in the spirit of Laudato Si' - I believe, already practiced by Sister Dorothy Stang years before the encyclical was published!
Here in Sweden Sister Dorothy Stang is not much known. Therefore, in connection with the 20th anniversary of her martydom, this morning I published an article in one of our Catholic websites (https://signum.se/syster-dorothy-stang-en-nutida-ekomartyr/). In addition, a slightly different version was prepared in English for our 20+ international partners, and which was sent to them earlier today. I'm attaching the same, as you have requested reflections for your documentation. I admit that there is nothing original in my article, as I have made use of material from your website and others as well. By using the various sources, my intention was merely to bring to our partners' notice and the faithful in Sweden about this remarkable sister of SNDdeN, elevated on the shrine of contemporary martyrs.
With kind regards,
CHARLES CÂMARA
