We are often worn out by the nearly constant barrage of violence in our communities, in our country and around the world. Many of us fear violence and are appalled to even see violence being celebrated in the media and some of the groups acting in violence.
We often feel powerless. The war in Ukraine continually brings stories of the bombing of homes, hospitals and schools. We believe in a culture of life even while we seem to be living in a culture of death. We value people over things.
Our Faith in Jesus gives us the values, vision and hope to help take back our communities from the evils that have invaded them. We have the Holy Spirit with us all the time. Remember, Jesus promised, “… I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b
“The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that [I] told you.” John 14:26
He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us daily. It is His guidance that will lead us to how we can help change our world. Pray for wisdom and understanding so that you might be part of the outreach to unbelievers and fallen away believers.
“Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10
Look around your neighborhood. See who is struggling. Find out what resources are available to those in need. Use your Holy Spirit power to bring help to parents, families, individuals who struggle to find food and housing. Be a voice for people who are poor and be creative in filling the needs you see around you. You may feel overwhelmed or inadequate to make a difference but with Jesus and His Holy Spirit and a willingness to listen, opportunities will come your way.
God has given us what we need. Now we need to go to Him daily with thanksgiving and praise, asking Him what He wants us to do each day! We need to keep ourselves armed with God’s Word. Pray it, study it, rely on it.
“Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
Now is the acceptable time! May God give you the strength of His power and bless your life with the peace that passes all understanding.
Blessings,

“The Lord GOD has given me a well-trained tongue, That I might know how to answer the weary a word that will waken them. Morning after morning he wakens my ear to hear as disciples do; The Lord GOD opened my ear; I did not refuse, did not turn away.” Isaiah 50:4-5
