Life is unpredictable to say the least. Not one of us can predict what tomorrow will bring. When difficult things come, we cannot help but wonder, “Why me?”
Most of us want to be in control of our lives, of our family, our jobs, our health – everything, especially when our loved ones are suffering in some way. No one likes to be powerless and yet, that’s what we are! Let’s face it – God is God and we are not!
So, what are we to do? Pray honestly to God and trust in Him and His care for you. Even the Scriptures describe how God’s people lamented when they didn’t like what was happening. Think about Moses …
“Why do you treat your servant so badly?” Moses asked the LORD. “Why are you so displeased with me that you burden me with all this people? Numbers 11:11
And David, who cried out:
“Why, LORD, do you stand afar and pay no heed in times of trouble?” Psalm 10:1
God has told us just how to manage times of uncertainty, fear and troubles.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
This month as we celebrate the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, remember the goodness of God. Now is the time to ask and receive God’s love and mercy. Look to Jesus’ heart and see the magnitude of God’s love for us and His care for us.
This month pray, “Jesus I trust in you”, whenever difficulties come. Our God is faithful to His promises. We try to surrender control to the one who can act on our behalf, and we remember that God’s ways are not our ways,
“So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
May God in His love and mercy, pour out His grace on you and on all those you love.
Blessings,
